BusinessCards Release

A customer appointment on Monday, an industry evening on Wednesday, a trade fair visit on Friday with two dozen new faces. The business cards are scanned in a few seconds. And then? This is exactly where the new release comes in. From now on, you can use BusinessCards to sort your contacts in detail.

An additional highlight: contacts are no longer stored on your phone, but centrally in your snapAddy\-account. We asked Myriam Himmel, Team Lead UI/UX at snapAddy, what difference that makes in everyday work.

## The essentials at a glance:

- **Custom contact lists** – for example per customer, region, or project – make sure you find contacts where you need them.
- As an admin, you can use the snapAddy\-dashboard to create **shared lists** and grant access to selected users and user groups.
- Contacts are stored in your snapAddy\-account and **synchronized automatically**.
- You can move incorrectly sorted contacts in bulk to the right list.
- The detail grid of a contact now shows the most important things first: the ways to get in touch.
- The update is being rolled out to all users step by step.

## The new BusinessCards in 40 seconds.

A long list is not a system.

## Myriam, what is the most important innovation in the new BusinessCards?

“The most important things are the **contact lists and synchronization**. Our customers can now organize their contacts in their own lists, and these lists are safely stored in their snapAddy\-account. Anyone who travels a lot collects business card s from very different situations: customer appointment, trade fair visit, conference, partner meeting. Until now, everything ended up in one grid. At the latest when following up, you had to search. That is exactly the pain we are addressing now with the new contact lists.”

## What does this change in concrete terms?

“Users can now sort contacts into lists right when they capture them and, after a trade fair visit, simply open the relevant list and work through it from top to bottom. Contacts from other appointments no longer get in the way. That may sound simple, but it saves time every single time and makes sure you do not forget anyone you still need to contact.”

This is what structure looks like in everyday work.

## Which lists make sense?

“There is no one-size-fits-all answer. The right answer is: lists that match your way of working. In Sales, one list per region or per customer is often a good choice. Before your next appointment, you can see at a glance whom you already know there. If you regularly attend conferences or networking events, it is best to create one list per event and have all new contacts in one place afterwards. And for ongoing projects or tenders, a dedicated list ensures that contact persons do not get lost among other contacts. The only important thing is to select the right list before scanning. Then the contact is immediately in the right city.”

## How do I create a list?

“When you sign in for the first time, the app creates a default list called ‘BusinessCards’. You can create additional lists directly in the app, and that only takes a few seconds.”

### Here’s how it works:

1. **Open the list menu:** Tap the name of the current list at the top.
2. **Switch lists:** In the menu, select the list you want to view.
3. **Manage lists:** Use the edit icon in the list menu to create, rename, delete, and sort your lists.

## And what if a contact ends up in the wrong list?

“That can easily happen, especially on a packed trade fair day. But you can move contacts at any time, even several at once. This lets you tidy things up afterwards in just two minutes.”

## Can I share lists with others as well?

“Yes, via the snapAddy\-dashboard. Admins create shared lists there and define which users or user groups get access. The selected people can then add contacts to the list themselves. This way the team works with the same contacts, for example for a shared customer or a project. Sharing lists is possible because, with the new release, contacts are no longer stored on the device, but in the snapAddy\-account.”

Synced automatically, so you don’t have to think about it.

## Lists now live in the snapAddy-account. What does that mean for everyday work?

“Until now, scanned cards were only stored on the device. Anyone who changed their phone had to take care themselves that the contacts came along. Now BusinessCards stores all contacts in the snapAddy\-account and synchronizes them automatically as soon as you are signed in.”

## Do I need to configure anything for this?

“No. Just sign-in and keep working with BusinessCards as usual. Users do not have to export anything or trigger a backup. Lists and contacts are simply there, even after changing devices.”

New design, streamlined detail grid.

## Besides lists and synchronization, BusinessCards also looks different. What has changed visually?

“The app has received a new design, and some actions have moved. You will notice this most clearly in the grid of a single contact. We have arranged it according to what you need first after a conversation. Directly below name, position, and company, you now see the quick actions: make a call, write an email, open the website, and export to the CRM. These are exactly the steps you want to take immediately while the conversation is still fresh.”

## What else is new in the detail grid?

“If a contact was created by scanning, you can show or hide the image of the scanned card under ‘business card ’. And when you scan a digital business card , the app saves its URL in the contact details. That way you can later access your counterpart’s current card with a single click.”

## Where do I find the Edit function now?

“All actions for a contact are now located in the menu with the three dots at the top right: Edit, Export, Share, Save to contacts, and Delete. Edit opens a dedicated grid, which gives more space for the individual fields.”

What stays the same?

## When will the update be available?

“We are rolling out the update step by step. So it may be that some colleagues are already using the new functions while others do not have them yet. As long as the app is kept up to date, the update will arrive automatically.”

## Do I have to do anything after the update?

“No. If you sign in, you automatically get synchronization and lists as part of it. My recommendation: create a dedicated list before your next trade fair visit or project start. You will notice the difference immediately when you follow up.”

## Finally: lists, contacts, follow-ups – doesn’t that sound like VisitReport?

“The two apps solve different tasks. **BusinessCards is the everyday contact app:** scan business cards, share digital business card s, and keep an eye on your network. VisitReport goes further. There, teams at trade fairs and in field sales also document what was discussed in the conversation and turn it into leads for Sales.”
